Bioproduct research led by Justin North receives $1.5 million grant from Department of Energy

A team of scientists led by Justin North, a research scientist in the Department of Microbiology, was one of the 34 projects selected by the Department of Energy’s Biological and Environmental Research Division to receive funding to support biofuel and bioproduct research. The team, which includes researchers from Colorado State University Soil and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, will receive $1.5 million over three years to develop enhanced ethylene synthesis capabilities in photosynthetic and cellulolytic bacteria.
