Microbiology to Welcome New Discovery Theme Faculty Hire This Fall: Introducing Dr. Patrick Bradley

Patrick Bradley

Dr. Patrick Bradley will be joining the Department of Microbiology and the Infectious Diseases Institute at Ohio State this fall as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Bradley comes to OSU from the Gladstone Institute of Data Science and Biotechnology at UCSF, where he was a Bioinformatics Fellow. His most recent research involves developing statistical methods for metagenomic data, in order to answer questions about how microbes contribute to health and disease and how they colonize the human body. Previously, Dr. Bradley's graduate work at Princeton focused on microbial metabolism, taking a combined wet- and dry-lab approach to make inferences about metabolic regulation in yeast from high-throughput data. His long-term research goal going forward is to understand gene function and regulation in the microbes of our bodies as well as we understand them in model microbes today. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Bradley to Ohio State!
